The site is located 3 miles west of Willmar on Trunk Highway 40 to County Road 116 (75th Street SW), turn left and go 1 mile south, and then turn right. The hours of operation are: Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 am to 6 pm each day.

The Swensson Farm Museum will officially close for the season on Sunday, September 5th. Visitors can view the farm site, including the house and barn, as well as the newly preserved family tombstones between the hours of 1 pm and 5 pm. Regular admission rates apply. "Time for Tea, Time for Women" the first-ever fundraising event for the Women's Fund of the Willmar Area Community Foundation set for 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, September 16th. The cost of the tea is $40 per person, of which $20 is tax deductible. There will be a short program at 5:30 pm. Funds raised will provide grants for area non-profit organizations serving women and teenage girls in Kandiyohi County. Previous grants were awarded to Ridgewater College for the pre-nursing program, Shelter House, Kitchen Kamp and the Child Guide Program. Everyone is welcome to help the Trailblazer District, Boy Scouts of America celebrate 100 years of Boy Scouts in America at a community wide non-denominational church service on the East side of the Euri Gunderson Shelter at Robbins Island on Saturday, September 18 at 2 pm. The message will be about Timeless Values given by Trailblazer Chaplain John Severance. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.

October, 2010 - Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, join the Shelter House in a program of safe avenues in a support of 'Purple Light Nights'. Let a light shine on your porch from October 1 thru 31 to: remember those who lost their lives, support those who survived domestic violence and bring hope to those who are still living with abuse. Show your support. Call Kjersta or Anna today at 235-0962 to purchase your purple lights for $3.00 each or two for $5.00. Proceeds benefit the Shelter House.
Monday, September 20, 2010 - Blomkest Commercial Club's Dad's Belgian Waffles Fundraiser
4:30 pm to 7 pm, Blomkest Community Center
Come support "The Biggest Little Town Around". Proceeds will be used to support various community events. Free will donation, (recommended donation $6.00 per plate, children 5 and under: free). Waffles, sausages, flavored syrups and drink.
Thursday, September 23, 2010 - 7th Annual Renville County Expo
9 am to 2 pm, Danube School
This expo isn't just for seniors. There will be vendors, door prizes, musical entertainment, boon density screening, diabetic screening, speakers and more. $5.00 at the door which includes lunch of which a donation of $4.00 per person will be given to the Relay for Life.
