(Minneapolis, MN) -- The University of Minnesota men's basketball team is
taking the bus to Milwaukee for their trip to Friday's first-round
N-C-double-A tournament game against Xavier. Using ground transportation
saves money, because the distance is below the N-C-double-A's threshold for
reimbursing teams team that fly to postseason games. U-of-M athletics
director Joel Maturi says they had no plans to ask for a waiver, and that
the five-hour bus ride won't affect the team in any way. The Gophers take
on the Musketeers in an 11:35 a-m tip-off at Bradley Center. The winner
plays either Pittsburgh or Oakland on Sunday, with the survivor headed to
the West Region semifinals in Salt Lake City, Utah.
