(Jupiter, FL) -- Francisco Liriano struck out six batters in three innings
of work yesterday, but the Twins lefthander also gave up three runs on four
hits in the 5-4 Grapefruit League loss to the Marlins in Jupiter, Florida.
The lefthander retired the side in order in the first but struggled in his
other two innings of work, giving up a two-run homer to Mike Stanton in his
final inning of work. The Twins got two hits from Denard Span and a
three-run home run from Jason Kubel. Today the Twins host the Orioles in
Fort Myers. Catcher Joe Mauer is expected to play after missing four games
with a sore shoulder that was hit by a foul tip.
